Traffic problems caused by mining

Local politicians are highlighting the potential traffic impact of new mining proposals planned for Shortwood Farm. Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry has called on local people and councillors to fight against the plans due to their impact on traffic in the Kimberley/Nuthall area. In particular the impact on the Nuthall Island, which local residents already believe to be a traffic nightmare.
Under the proposal , lorries would travel up the A6002 to Nuthall Island and then join the M1 at Junction 26.. Read more
